I'm Donald Wickham Sr. — 79 years old, a software developer since 1967 (yes, there were computers then 😉), an ordained pastor, and for over a decade, full-time caregiver to my wife Pam. I live in Northern Colorado with 58 years of marriage behind me, 4 kids, 12 grandkids, and 2 great-grandkids to show for it.

Along the way I've started several businesses — real estate investing, smartphone apps, life coaching, financial advising. I've been an auto mechanic and done home remodeling too. I'm a compulsive fixer: I see a problem, I find a solution. That's just how I'm wired.

But this site, and these books, didn't come from theory. They came from the same hard seasons you might be standing in right now — and from finally learning what it looks like to actually live like Jesus in the middle of them, not just believe in Him from a distance.

In Practical Kingdom Living, I explore what it looks like to carry faith beyond Sunday mornings and into the ordinary, ground-level decisions of daily life. In the Secret of the Magic Pillars series, I bring that same heart for growth and character to younger readers, following Ellie and Tyler as they discover courage, wonder, and purpose on the other side of a mysterious set of pillars.

More than anything, I love getting to know folks and helping them discover the gold God put in their hearts.
